How to fix an error on a customer invoice (or credit note, or quote)

Step 1: Locate the financial document (ie. invoice) and click Edit:


A.) If you are already viewing the correct document

  1. Click Edit Invoice (or Edit Quote/Edit Credit Note) at the top.

B.) OR, if it’s a recent document, via the Financial docs page

  1. Click on “Customers/Sales”, then “Financial Docs”.
    a. It will display invoices by default. To find other documents, select the document type
    (e.g. credit notes/quotes) at the top of the Search section, then click Search to view the results.

  2. Click Edit on the right of the document you want to change.

C.) OR, if it’s an older document, via the customer’s statement

  1. Search for the customer (top right), click the customer name, then click Statement

    a.) If it’s a quote, click Quotes instead, if the customer has any)

2. Then click the Edit button on the right of the invoice you want to change (most recent invoices are at the bottom)

Step 2: Make the necessary changes and click Save at the bottom.

In the below example, we forgot to add a discount for a customer:

Step 3: If you already created a receipt for the wrong amount, you need to change that too

  1. After editing the invoice, it will take you to the View Invoice page. Click Statement at the top (or search for the customer again, then on the customer page click Statement).

  2. Find the receipt corresponding to the invoice you changed and click Edit on the right

  3. Adjust the amount, and click Save.
